About Frisch Gebacken

We are a small team in Vienna. We read the Austrian and Central European family recipes American households inherited, translate them, convert them for a US kitchen and bake them until they taste the way the family remembers.

Every recipe on this site is baked from the page twice before it earns the “Tested in Vienna” mark. We use software to help read old handwriting and convert units; a person checks every word and every bake.
